As part of the Inflation Reduction Act, starting Jan. 1, 2023 clients may be able to take advantage of the tax credits up to $2000 for approved heat pumps!
Guidelines:
- Tax Section 25C, Nonbusiness Energy Property Credit
- Credit of up to 30% of installation of qualifying equipment
- Heat Pump Credit is $2000 Maximum
- Additional heat pumps are not an additional $2000
- Air Conditioner Credit is up to $600
- Furnace Credit is up to $600
- Maximum Credit of AC & Furnace combined is $1200
- Total Tax Credit Maximum is $3200
- Credit limit is annual (not lifetime) and resets each year
- Must be client's primary residence
